HISTORICAL CRISIS COMMITTEE
Historical Crisis Committee (HCC) is a fast-paced, dynamic committee that places delegates in historical scenarios where they must make decisions in real timem. Unlike traditional committees, HCCs focus on reacting to evolving crises, requiring delegates to think strategically, engage in rapid negotiations, and draft directives to influence unfolding events. This format challenges participants to balance diplomacy, military strategy, and internal politics while navigating unexpected developments.
The Red and Black Conflict: The Struggle for Germany is a Historical Crisis Committee (HCC) that immerses delegates in an alternate post-World War I Germany, where political extremism and social unrest have reached a boiling point. Instead of the fragile Weimar Republic taking hold, Germany has fractured into two warring factions—the Fascists, symbolized by black, advocating for nationalism, militarism, and authoritarian order, and the Communists, represented by red, pushing for a proletarian revolution inspired by Soviet ideology. Set in the early 1920s, this committee challenges delegates to navigate a volatile landscape of military campaigns, propaganda wars, espionage, and diplomatic negotiations. Participants will assume roles within their respective factions, making critical decisions that could tip the balance of power. With foreign powers like the Soviet Union and Italy waiting to influence the conflict, and Germany’s future hanging in the balance, this HCC will test delegates’ strategic thinking, crisis management, and diplomatic skills in a race to determine which ideology will define the nation’s destiny.
